What an amazing dat yesterday turned out to be! It started dull. Weather and socially. His Nibs was supposed to go on a trip to some relative with his mother and the clouds his the sun.
But then it all changed. The sun came out and stayed out ALL DAY and his trip was cancelled so he spent the day with us. He helped SWMBO in the garden (she's keen, like her) and I did a bit to help (not least taking prisoners of the vast number of snails who visit). Lots of beauty to look at.
And the crossword!! After last week's disaster, I managed to nearly finish this week's.
Two questions please. One is for an explanation. The clue is "Language and humour is lacking initially in Westminster area". I have s*a*i*i. The only language I know that fits that is Swahili. I get the SW1 part but the rest baffles me. Help please.
The other one I don't have an answer to. "Under more pressure,it's necessary to shorten sermon". I have t*n*e*. Tender? But why? More help please.

That last comment was a response to scorpion's first answer. But it could (and does) apply to the latest one with an echo from toorak. More thanks.
