We had Maoris in Malaya, They made up most of the 1st Battalion Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment. We, H Light Battery Royal Artillery were their support battery. Lovely people.
Undoubtedly. A very brave South Sea Islamder named Laba Laba, a member of our S.A.S. bravely fought and was killed in the battle of Mirbat, (circa 1972), fighting the Adoo in Oman.
Indeed I am, also my other brother, he was a Royal Marines Commando. He was in Malaya at the same time as me. We flew together to Aden for our brother's funeral.
