The guy is obviously unable to judge proper action and needed to be led off somewhere where he couldn't act inappropriately further, and the church asked to explain why he was in a position he didn't have the metal ability to handle. Appropriately, I understand he's not doing the christenings now, correct ? The parents acted correctly; beating up or killing a feeble old man would be inappropriate.
I agree....the parents acted with great dignity....and of course they were right to do so.....but
If I was holding my baby and anyone slapped his or her face I would give a jolly good slap back.....that way the person would know what can happen if they slap a baby and just what it feels like to be suddenly slapped.....and I wouldn't be left forever thinking.....Lord I wish I'd given him a slap too.....x

I can only reiterate what I have said - priests have no idea how to handle children because they only interact with them in the utterly false and sinister dealings of confession and so on.
This priest was obviously frustrated that his attempts to calm the child were not working, and he had no idea how to handle the situation, and lashed out. That does not make it OK - far from it, but at least he has been removed from behaving so appallingly again.
The Catholic church has acted as it always does in abuse cases - move him along, nothing to see here ...
