I'm not sure if they are colonial or solitary but I've just seen one fly out of one of my potted pepper plants, which I must have disturbed while watering.

Think I'll leave it be ......sorry about the pun ;-)

For the last three years a leafcutter has feasted on only one of my roses.
Nothing this year so far. I miss him/her
