how do I re-set start page for internet, as seem to be getting a default - site, which keeps giving the coputer a virus

Run Internet Explorer, go to Tools and then Internet Options. The page you get when you start browsing is shown in "Home page". Change then entry in the box or press "Use Blank"

you have been 'ad by spyware mate - get ADAWARE 6 and get rid of that pesky spyware u have its a pain and its your only option im afraid

You could use Spy Bot. With this you can lock your homepage, and also scan for intruders. (It's free too)
