red palms

For many years I have had red palms, they are red more around the edge of my hands. They have become 'redder' as the years have past. I've been told that this is called 'liver palms'. My mums hands are exactly the same way. Does anyone know why this occurs? I have looked on the net and can't find anything. Thanks in advance.

Do u think its a circulation problem because my mum gets purple feet which is circulation, i know its not the same thing but just a thought......
