Sad State Of Affairs
I just hear on the news that 28 woman a month have to travel from Northern Ireland to England/Scotland/Wales for legal terminations.
132 MP's nationwide are now calling for terminations to be legalised in Northern Ireland but apparently if this goes ahead one of the political parties have threatened devolution.
Now would it be a bad thing for devolution to fail and for women to have this right?

The figure of twenty-eight is actually a weekly figure. That equates to 121 per month, meaning it's in proportion to the figure for Eire.

28 does seem somewhat statistically insignificant when you consider that the total per month for residents of England & Wales (31x population of NI) is of the order of 15,500 [of which 38% are repeat i.e. women who have had one or more previous abortions].

Around 280 per month travelled from Eire (2.5x population of NI) before its ongoing process of reformation for its abortion laws.
