Bit of an odd question, but why are caravans white or cream. We've just been discussing it in the office and you never see coloured ones. Would have thought someone would have cottoned on to the idea of making caravans to match the colour of your car. Anyone any ideas on this? Is it some kind of caravan club regulation 'eye-sore' thing?

Hi
I would think the same reason as most campervans are a pale coulour to detract the heat, if a caravan was say Black, Blue or Red,the temperature inside would be stifling, only a guess on my part, some intelect, might know more, Ray
Maybe it's the same reason that vans are mainly white. Its a generic colour that suits the majority and ultimately cheaper for the customer. There is absolutely no reason why they could'nt be sprayed aftewards but for most people it's not worth the hassle or the cost.

This also the reason most police cars were white because they were cheaper but I know now that some forces are buying silver cars so they are easier to sell on after they have finished with them.
Ray is right t ios to reflect the heat in summer.
