How have they filmed Jacks amputated leg? It looks so realistic. No sign of his real leg at all.

It's a brilliant bit of camera magic!
It is, I was kind of expecting he may be shown with some kind of bandage or something, not even a bit of scar tissue!! amazing ;)
Of course not, it's been amputated. Bet he was paid well.
haha O-G, I love your wit sometimes :)
my daughter text to ask if he really had it taken off it looks so real
They've cut a hole in the mattress. Jack is standing in the hole in the mattress. His whole leg and half a leg has been made by the props department.
^That doesn't account for him getting off the bed and into his wheel chair.....it was very well done.
What did he do with his leg when he was in the wheelchair, windy? It's all done by CGI, he is wearing a green screen sock on his leg
I was joking about them cutting a hole in the mattress.
The young boy who plays him has only just come into it. Perhaps this storyline was devised sometime ago and they found an amputee to play him?

His scar was remarkably well-healed for a surgery which only recently took place.
Made me laugh last night when Eva left for France, with all her and the baby's belongings in a suitcase on wheels.
Kyran Bowes has been playing Jack for 2 years. He is not an amputee
That rules that theory out then. Damn good visual effects in that case.
Similar to the technique used in Strike. For that series a real amputee is used to film the close ups of the stump and it is superimposed using CGI.
Hope this link works - it's a video showing how it's done

I'd rather not know how it's done. That would be spoiling the whole scenario. Just sit back and close your mind to all the technicalities.

It didn't really show how it was done!
You have to read up on Green Screen and how it works in filming, very clever.
