The problem won't go away if you ignore it. Hard-Brexiteers want us to 'trade with the rest of the world' but I've yet to see anyone acknowledge what the challenges of doing that from our starting position actually are.

Krom, there will be challenges certainly but they should be looked on as opportunities and if we all get behind it then it will work.

Doom-mongering and a drip feed of scare tactics by remonaers (not those that voted remain) will hamper this. Too often it seems those in the remoaner camp would rather see us fail than get behind and push things forward for greater success.

It's like you wanting to buy a car from someone, would the seller say "if you want this car, you will have to pay a substantial tariff"?

But that's exactly what they will have to say.

Because that's what a trading bloc is. A trading bloc by definition priotises trade among its members, and any third parties looking to trade with any member (which in practice means trading with the whole bloc) need to negotiate a vast number of things in order to gain access. That is why trade agreements in the modern world typically take 8 or 9 years to complete, often more. It's not like the old days.

This doesn't mean it's impossible, it just means it takes a long time, and if we're going to go for No Deal it's incumbent on us to have some idea of where we will be getting our goods in between losing trade from Europe and building new trade deals in the future. One of the many, many things you never hear about.

And then there's the massive slew of regulations that need to be replaced. Again, not impossible - but guaranteed to cause hardship and serious problems. It does nobody any good to deny that these problems exist. And it's something that, frankly, we should have started thinking about 18 months ago, if not before.

Not a case of wanting the job, it's a case of accepting it on behalf of the party and the country. You can't tell me that no one is willing to pick up the role to ensure progress rather than dumping the country.

Well the Remain camp lost, but it is reassuring to know that had they won the Leavers would have got behind them and pushed things forward for a greater success.

Not so. The only one who ran away was Leadsom and she came a very poor second to May. The others were defeated.
