Can a council take back ask you to hand back a property if you work away for 2 weeks at a time and then only occupy it for weekends. Assuming all rent council tax is paid and up to date.
It depends on the council. Some have residential rules. They would suggest you are stopping a needy family from being given a home. Some state that you may only be absent for a set amount of time. Check with your council housing department.
If you are genuinely working away and the property is the place you come home to, then there is unlikely to be a problem. If on the other hand you are living with someone else during the time you are away, or you have another home, then they might consider you less in need of a council house.
er is this in Malaga ( BC will know ...) or you are working in Malaga? The council houses are in demand ( low rents still ) and for needy people and you know they want the needy to er live in them.
Manchester has residential rules and it will depend on your local council. By the way you have said - two weeks away and thereafter occupied for week ends which would be FOUR days a month
and yeah in Manch
people have had council houses AND little pieds a terre in Malaga
and have been dobbed in by jealous neighbours ....
[I was dobbed in FIVE times to the council who was SURE I was blagging on housing benefit.... I cd easily show I was ..... a freeholder and had made no claim] - she unconvincingly said, o it must be somewhere else then
