go on holiday or save money?

ok i dont have much money at the moment but had a small brainwave last night. Remembered that i wanted to do a conservation holiday earlier in the year but didnt have any money at all then. I cant go sailing as all the places for the week i wanted have gone.

The working holiday is with the national trust in wales....anyone done this kinda of thing before?

Also though it would be quite scary spending a week with people i dont know.

Should i maybe play it safe save the small amount of money it would cost and stay at home and do some job applications. My week off work is booked for two weeks time!

Steve- I recommend the holiday- I was down for a while and decided to pack up my life and go travelling for 9 months and it did me the world of good. A week away would do you the world of good, and its nice to meet different people who knows what it might open up for you. You can always make more money life is short enjoy it !

alright well i have done conservation work before and find that getting out in the oudoors for hard work can help the way i feel. Also the location of the holiday is near the sea i think so thats good as i love the sea.

will give national trust a call!

Sounds fun steve! I say go for it! and dont worry about not knowing people they'll all be in the same boat, you'll have a great time i reckon!

I'm going on holiday to cyprus in a few weeks and i really need it, although i'm going to be poor til october because i've got a new job and its all fallen awkward with pay but never mind! ;o)

you cant spend your money from your grave! spend the money and have a fun hol mate!

go for it... sounds ideal for you. You could end up spending your time off sitting in your house wondering what to do with yourself. Go for it!

ok well much as i would love to go. It is in the same week as my parents will be away for the week (i live at home at the moment) and that would mean leaving my brother at home on his own...he is 19 ...im more worried about the house than him!!

Saying that though i dont like the prospect of spending a week with him as he is a grumpy sod all the time and hard to live with. At least when my parents are around i have adult company....my brother is not very adult!

if your parents are happy to leave him in charge of the house, then it's not for you to worry about surely?

part of me doesnt wanna bother to go on this hol or find out about it and insted try to meet some women or men from this adult suite i joined.

well i mean i might not go yet i could phone up and find all the places have gone

Sorry the course was fully booked because it sounded really interesting and enjoyable. I suspect a lot of single people book them because you have a chance to meet new and interesting people in a pleasant and sociable environment.
Now it's the summer holidays, a lot of local authorities are organising play schemes for children and looking for volunteers to help run them. It may be a little late in the day to get involved, and you might find you need some police clearance to work with children, even in a volunteering capacity. Still, if kids aren't your scene, opt for clearing brambles or dredging ponds and rivers next year with individuals of your own age. I'm sure this involves lots of friendly evenings down the pub afterwards to clear your throat from all the dust of the day.
