Poor Pester, TSB chairman, has been forced out of his job with a mere £1.6m payoff.

Shame. He did his best (he also did for their IT system).

Someone has to go for the problems, although in reality there is very little he cold have done.

He will just move on to the next one. Had a pretty good run at the TSB.
he's ultimately responsible but in reality the problem is caused at a project level, insufficient testing by the look of it. As usual with the banks penny wise pound foolish.
Mr Pester was extremely vocal last year about payoffs for MD's who had screwed up their company, he referred to it as 'reward for failure', which is exactly what it is.

(Except when it's his reward for his failure!!!!!)
