I don't think the Americans rate this tournament very much, judging by their comments and body language throughout the competition. I'm guessing that some of them would rather be playing another tournament elsewhere.

The European fans and the media always build it up and over-hype it. The behaviour of some of the
so-called fans was a disgrace at times. I don't think many of the fans are actual golfers, as golfers would give more respect to ALL the players. It seemed to me that lots of those who were watching, were only there for a booze up and fancy dress party.
