G'afternoon Theland.......I may not always see eye to eye with you, but, on this occasion, we are in agreement. However, I disapprove of one poster in this thread who alleges that you are an inverted snob, when the person concerned, in my opinion, could be classified as an inveterate snob. (A belief beyond belief in their knowledge on all matters)

Hans.
I disagree with him on that front. I'm not a fan of artificial sugar and I don't need to be told what is good and what is bad.

But Woof, we're lucky, some people are really misinformed and believe the adverts they see. Yes, what they are advertising may have iron, vit C etc...but they forget to add they are loaded with sugar.

He is trying to educate the misinformed but the problem, imo, is he's rich, very rich, and has never lived on a tight budget, so he doesn't know what it's like. He's not the only chef guilty of it though.

The point is for example, Lily Allen has said she is ashamed to be British because of the Calais camps? She advocated us all taking in an asylum seeker.
So, should her money and celebrity status be given air time?
Why not? We don't have to pay heed to her. You have your own mind.
Presuming you mean the filming when she visited the camps?

Should her remarks have been edited out?

I'm really not sure, as I said I can listen to things and take from them what I want.

I have no ability whatsoever to take in anyone, so I don't beat myself up about it.
Jamie Oliver is a t)sser, and believes we all can cluck off to Barbados for a quick snack.. straight out of the sea and on ya' plate.

****er!
It doesn’t matter whether it’s x or y’s Jon or not: this is a rant about opinions we disagree with. If Jamie geldof or whoever was extolling the virtues of the evangelical movement he’d get the thumbs up and do on
Nothing wrong with a good old rant of course, not let’s reconsider it as that :-)
He's not, Arky, he's just never struggled. His parents were publicans so he's never had to go round the supermarket with a calculator. That's not his fault.

He should probably do 'rich house, poor house'
Umm he does come across as a genuine COCKney doesn't he.
ummm, I would have no problem with his trying to educate....I mean I'd still think he's a hypocrit but I wouldn't care.....but when he uses his dubious celebrity to access the government and push the sugar levy, then he has crossed the line. He (and others) should have no more access or influence than anyone else.

They become lobbyists and have no more insight into the worlds problems than the rest of us.
