Did any of you watch the 1969 moon landing live (as it was happening) on TV & what are your memories?
I watched with my two-year old on my lap. I wanted him to be able to say that he saw it while it was actually happening. Even though he was so young, he still remembers it.
It's a small step and/or a giant leap, depending on how you view it. Unfortunate thing is that we've not trotted any further since (and I not be around to see it when "we" do at the rate we're going).
I watched it with my family. My father, an ex RAF Wing Commander poo-poo-ed it all the way through, pointing out 'impossibilities' and 'indiscrepancies' . He was not one for fanciful thoughts or conspiracy theories but kept the view that it was done in a studio as part of the race to the Moon with Russia.
I'd been stopping overtime on afters at the pit and got home about 02.00hrs had a sandwich and a beer and watched what was happening and thought whats the big deal?. It wasn't till next morning when I when I woke up still in the chair with a stiff neck that I realised just how big a deal it really was.
