I’ve just been to my local shops and standing outside a takeaway shop was a young man, clearly with learning difficulties and speech problems. He’s stopping everyone and saying the same thing “ Meat. Hot food. Please”. He didn’t want any money. Just someone to go into the shop and get him some hot food. He had no coat on, just a thin jumper and filthy tracksuit bottoms, it was blowing an absolute gale and looked as though it was going to pour with rain any minute. I could have absolutely cried for him, and suddenly felt incredibly thankful for what I have......
So if you think you’re having a bad day, that you’ve got tons of housework to do maybe, or dinner to cook, then maybe think again xx
( And call me a soft touch but yes I did buy him some hot food, which he couldn’t start eating quickly enough! And I also went into the supermarket next door and got him a prepacked sandwich and drink for later on)

Even if that *were* true......did it make them slightly more, or slightly less, homeless than they already were?
//You have spent weeks promoting your 'nice side'. Today you show us your 'nasty side'//
Who was that addressed to JD?
Some attitudes are so less than sympathetic.
There is zero doubt that each and every day ,the homeless and less fortunate are treated uncharitably.

Today, like many Smow did something practical to help someone.

Well done again Smow.
If i'm in a good mood I'll share a bit of crack with a hobo. They like it better than any food or even money.
I was giving to an Ethiopian charity for about 20 years - they wrote me and told they no longer want the money as the recipient can't be found in their village.

Now I buy the same amount of food and toiletries once a month with the same and deliver to the food bank. However last time when I was leaving the food in - I truly couldn't get over how much food was in the back. Every shelf was truly stacked. Now I'm thinking are they getting too much they can't handle or no room per se. These guys also go out at night every night to the homeless. Do you think they (foodbanks) are getting inundated.

When I was homeless a bit of crack (or beer or fags or anything to nunb the pain) seemed a better option than anything that you take for granted.
Yes well done Smow. All we can do is be good Samaritans.
Pasta I'm a bit late in replying to your post of 17.16. I do indeed do what I can but it doesn't stop me feeling ashamed.
I meant 19.16 - too tired - can't see properly!
