Explains a few things.
Very odd, isn't it. Such isolated outbreaks. They must have spent millions looking into this yet don't seem to know much about it.
They blamed contaminated feed before, I thought, or was that something else?

No, it was one of the causes given, Spicerack, feeding ground up infected corpses to cattle as I recall.
