Connecting New Router Box By Wi-Fi To Sky Box

Hi can someone help in simple terms please? Rec'd new EE router box and all connected and working. However, my SKY +HD box on screen is saying you need to connect to the internet (I didn't even know it was lol).

In the connection page that comes up there's no details of the new router box and obviously the old box is no longer and won't show. So how can I fill in the new box details for the Wi-Fi connection? I don't want to mess about with it and make other things go AWOL. Thanks in advance for your valued help.

There is a reset option in the Newwork settings - try that

Is the Sky box connected to the router wirelessly(a little 4" square box separate from the sky box) If so press the wap button on the router and the little wifi box.
If your sky box was connected to the old router via an ethernet cable(yellow) make sure that it is plugged into the router and go into settings using your hand control remote. Go into settings and find network then add the pin no. that is supplied with the new router.

The old router was connected by WIFI as there's no wired connection at all. Router box is upstairs and Sky+HD downstairs. The Sky engineer put the new Sky+HD box in a year or so ago and I don't know what he did with connection to our old router, it was just all working after he left. I have connected the new router to PC upstairs and my iPad runs off it by Wi Fi and so does my laptop. All I want is to set the SKY box up to receive WIFI. I can get the router box page up on SKY just need to access the fill in spaces for new info from the router box.

Which sky box have you got? Has the sky box got in built wifi or the little sky wifi receiver that is a little 4 inch square add on? If the sky box has internal wi fi it will have a wap button. The add on wifi receiver also has a wap button. Press the wap button on the router and aether of the two boxes within 30 seconds of each other and wait for the handshake to happen. Takes a minute or so.

The wps button on the sky box is next to the blue turning circle just left of the viewing card.

Hi Togo, no extra box with the SKY box so must be about the WAP button. Arrgh gawd knows how I find that lol. I will do a search later. Thank you. There I was thinking just enter new box details and done and dusted. Only one thing is....the engineer was alone.... so I can't see how he could have pressed a button downstairs and then within 30 second upstairs...hmm. Superman praps lol.

You can do it manually as well but you need the router identity code and then you need to enter that into the menu in the set up on the sky box. Can be a pain though with the buttons on the hand set, after getting into the settings and network menu.

Go into settings on your sky select network enter router password or other connection option.

Hi well I have tried the password for the router BUT with the handset of the sky box I cannot get up a 'dash' as in say the PW is .....nude-you-celeb ( not my password btw) there's nowt on the sky remote that will let me type a dash!! I put the password in but that's it so it won't accept it.... This is ridiculous....I did on the iPads but not with this one. Probably just leave it now and not have the catch up rubbish facility....it's too complicated for me or it's being stroppy cos of limited keypad choices. Beam me up Scotty!

The number 1 on the sky remote should cycle through the different characters

Tuvok...no it doesn't I tried that.....jeeezus just wonder how I can out a dash in between three words....impossible it seems. Iam going bonkers here!
