Googling A Website
3 Answers
I have just completed a website for a community centre that we run. How can I ensure that it appears on the first page of any search when it is googled ( I understand that googled is now an accepted verb, although other search engines are available!!)

Oops! Search engine optimisation (SEO) needs to be built into every stage of a website's design if that site is be highly ranked by Google, et al. You really should have had SEO in mind from the very start!
Googling for 'SEO tips' will find you plenty of advice, such as

and
http:// www.seo mark.co .uk/sma ll-busi ness-se o-tips/
and there's 10 chapters of (fairly easy to read) advice here:

However Google itself has loads of advice here:

(In particular, the 'Search Engine Optimization' link, at the top right, leads to an excellent PDF)
My own small suggestion is to try to get as many valid links to your site as possible (so that they'll be found by the web-crawling software found by search engines). So if, for example, your local table tennis club uses the community centre, as well as a scout group and the Women's Institute, ask if they've got their own websites and whether they'd each include a link to yours.

For getting a website on the first page of any search when it is googled the website has to be SEO friendly. There are two types of SEO. On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO. For On-Page SEO the search engines need to be informed about business through content and keywords directly from web pages. One must have complete access to the website backend which means one should have full control to modify the website.
For Off-Page SEO the website needs to increase the popularity by having a reference from third party websites. One doesn't have direct control.
Keywords are the search terms people search in search engines. Choosing the right business keywords are the most important task for SEO. If you want more information visit us at https:/ /about. me/amel iahorto n
