I need to re-new my security on my home PC. The price differs a lot between providers of systems...but which is the best?

The best are actually free:-

Anti virus: Avast or AVG (I prefer Avast)

Firewall: Zone Alarm

Spyware: Microsofts Defender, Adaware, Spybot plus various others. Use at least two of these.

The paid-for ones are such as Norton and McAfee are bloated programmes which tend to slow your PC down.

Ewido and A2 (A squared) are also free essentials in my opinion.

I've got freebies ZA, Spybot and Adaware. How often do you have to run these ?

I`ve got intouch with my ISP and there is an offer of 90 days free trial with F-Secure so i`ll take a look at that.
