Was going to put this in news as there isn't a "stupidity" section but I guess CB will do for now.

Only in America ... if it's gun related anything goes.

"Polk County officials say they've issued weapons permits to at least three people who can't legally drive and were unable to read the application forms, or had difficulty doing so because of visual impairments".

... they deserve all they get .
I wonder if the sheriff would be willing to stand in a row of dummies to show his daughter could differentiate between them as she fired at them?
Speechless !!!!!!!!
Oh great, I may soon be able to take up target shooting again.

Meh
This reminds me of an American Quaker who hearing a noise at night, collected his gun and went downstairs. Seeing a burglar he says" Friend I wouldn't harm you for all the world but you're standing where I'm about to shoot". Perhaps if a blind person does shoot somebody by mistake this could be her/his defence plea.
yeah but....guns are legal and you can't discriminate against the disabled so what can they do?
Absolutely daft.
Surely, a blind person would need a Gattling Gun to be sure of hitting the target.

That is essentially the argument here.

You can argue with anyone that giving a gun to a less than perfectly sighted person is asking for trouble … anyone that is except someone who believes in the Second Amendment, because their ability to understand rational argument ha already been demonstrably compromised beyond repair.
"State law does not allow sheriffs to deny an Iowan the right to carry a weapon based on physical ability."

Sounds like State law needs looking at again then, by someone not registered as blind.

"he believes that once she becomes of legal age to purchase firearms, she should not be excluded from her second amendment rights."

Pity they can't realise the disconnect between second amendment rights, and common sense rights and responsibilities in these times. Again something that needs looking at and amending further.
Old_Geezer - // Pity they can't realise the disconnect between second amendment rights, and common sense rights and responsibilities in these times. //

As I have opined, acceptance of Second Amendment Rights means that access to the sections of the brain that deal with common sense is already welded shut
