Link Asus Laptop To Hi-Fi

I have bought a hi-fi amplifier and some speakers so that I i can listen to spotify. I bought a lead that connects the headphone socket to the RCA auxiliary inputs. I already have one to some cheap laptop speakers which fits snugly. The new one doesn't go all all the way in. Can anyone recommend the correct lead? I have an Amazon Prime sccount
