What is your favourite film or situation?

I adore them.

Their dual interplay was the template for every single comedy duo that ever followed - a couple manacled together who superficially annoy each other, but the co-dependence is there.

As Zacs advises, the breaking the forth wall technique is standard now, but must have been ground-breaking back then, and Ollie does it so well, including the audience by saying "Can you see what I have to deal with on a daily basis?" just with one look.

The dual interplay that made Laurel and Hardy so good cannot be replicated by a single player.

Do like L&H, at their best they were brilliant.

I have always loved them. Their later films were nowhere near as good as their short 20 minute episodes that used to be on TV regularly at around 6pm. My favourites were the ones involving James Finlayson.

Have just watched the film Stan and Ollie at the local cinema, absolutely faultless performance by coogan and Reilly. Interesting story about their later years , their relationship , their wives and overall their love and respect for each other .It is doing well at the box office and deservedly so - if you are of a ‘certain age ‘and enjoyed their films then you will really appreciate this tribute to them both - I admit to a little weep at the end as I remembered how much they made me laugh when I was younger as I saw their films over and over again !
