With winter in full swing and our gardens frozen over, what are you doing to keep busy?

Feeding the birds :)

Have just bought some seed potatoes and loads of seeds for the new season.
Have approx 100 leeks still in the ground .. time to start giving them away I think. Still picking turnips and swede whenever we want. Plenty of chard still to be picked as and when.

Better to have leeks than waterlogged soil ;)

Whats water logged soil .. we grow on a slight slope with solid sand just over a spades depth down.

enjoying my mimosa and the other winter blooms and keeping an eye on temps in the shed where my tortoises are hibernating.

As its all frozen, its pretty much taking care of itself right now, so its on hold til it warms up a bit.
The only other things in the garden that need attention, is keeping the birds fed and watered and an area of the pond free of ice.
Winter draws on ;-)

Balcony ticking over, still plenty of green stuff, plan for garden one nearly finished, planting plan for garden two still needs pricing and seed and plant orders for balcony ready to send on 10th when I get paid. Going to start clearing garden one as soon as it thaws properly.
