Very strong winds and gusts! Rain! Washing line cover gone! Olive tree in a pot over. Around the Bay there are trees down and I expect the seafront to close too, and obviously Dawlish rail line will be closed!

However, the Voyager trains used by Cross Country have brake resistors on their roofs which are liable to seizing up if penetrated by seawater. In windy weather, at high tide, these trains will not run through Dawlish and, coming from the North, are usually terminated at Exeter.
