How many are screaming at the screen right now? She made her bed let her lie in it. Why should she be allowed back here?

Some army veterans, who joined up as adults as a career choice with (supposedly) full support, have trouble adjusting to civvie street. I can't imagine how much a few years with ISIS has warped this young woman's mind, never mind the additional loss of her two babies.
On the other hand, she will have lots of intelligence that our services would find very useful and she would surely be subjected to a lot of interrogation if she returned. An expert said the process would last two years and be intensive.

Too right, Jackdaw. That's what worries me. I might have reasons to dislike Churchill and Thatcher but I would never question their belief in what they believed to be right, whatever the rest of the world thought.
Even I miss the days when politicians said what they believed, rather than playing to the gallery in pursuit of this week's target demographic.

I just heard President Trump has said we should take back 800 alleged 'enemy combatants' from Syria. Given his success in closing Guantanamo Bay detention centre and persuading Mexico to build a border wall, I am now in a quandary. Everything he has ever said has clearly demonstrated his dedication to the UK's best interests, maybe I need to change my view on honouring international treaties?
As I understand it we are legally obliged to take her back ; given that she is a British citizen
We protest when we try to deport those we do not wish to keep here , and the ' receiving' country refuses to take them )
If and when she returns here then of course , we can lay charges against and haul her before the courts

naomi24: Apologies, I did not intend to give a false impression. I included a reference to Guantanamo to acknowledge President Trump's enduring commitment to detention without trial.
To be clear, I believe the UK has ratified treaties that prevent us making people stateless, and that refusing to accept her return would make it difficult for us to repatriate overseas citizens who break the law here.
I have previously stated my full support for an investigation by police and the security services to determine whether she should be charged with any offence under UK law. I not only believe that her unborn child should be removed at birth, I would offer my time and experience to help make it happen.
I fully accept that I did not report his statement in full, but nor did I criticise him for interfering in UK government policy. I have always read any links provided by other commenters on this forum before I offer my thoughts, even where it appears that the poster has not done so themselves. I hope we all do the same. Like you, I have no wish to see ill-informed prejudices being spread. As soon as somebody points out the falsehood in my comment, I will ensure it is removed.

If there's a bandwagon to jump on, Trump is first in line.
