Like you can listen to radio stations on the internet, with the advent of faster broadband connections you will also be able to receive streamed video. The faster the broadband, the better the quality of video will be. This will pave the way to true Video on Demand (VoD) which will mean you turn your TV on and choose what you want to watch, as opposed to relying on the schedulers to provide it. Theoretically, you could even setup your own schedules (Tuesday night, Star Wars night, Wednesday Friends night, Thursday Leather Bound Goddesses night). It will also pave the way to full interactive TV. Not that 'red button' stuff we get on Sky now, but a much more intuitive experience like you get on the internet. Imagine Who Wants to Be A Millionaire played simultaneously by a few thousand people from the comfort of their own homes.... possibilities are endless really.
