Can anyone recommend a drill that will also be a screwdriver

Depends what you wish to pay and how powerful you need it to screw them in. Mine is a £40 De Walt but you can get much cheaper rechargeables for lighter screwing/unscrewing

C'mon tell the truth .. where can you buy a DeWalt for £40 ?
Personally I have stuck with the Blue Bosch range for years on end and currently own 5 of them.. thinking about it, I actually have 8. Years of daily use and they just keep going .. cant fault them.

I am telling the truth. My De Walt is a good few years old and was, then, quite expensive for my budget.But being an expensive De Walt it has lasted the time and coming with two batteries has needed no replacements. I actually bought it on offer at Screwfix.

It’s for me to put a curtain rail up but I like to think once I have it I have it for good
I also like the idea of one that has a battery that can be used for other tools but I cannot remember the company that makes yhem

18volt Lithium-Ion batteries used to be available only in the higher end "Professional" models, so this is a good buy.
Titan is a solid diy make. It won't take the sort of endless trade use that more expensive ones manage, but, for occasional use, it's ideal.

If you want to drill for a curtain rail you may want a heavy duty hammer drill as ,in my experience ,I have found a concrete lintel just where I want to drill.
