Just a quick update on last night's gig:

I was hoping to get to the wedding for 6 pm, but eventually got there at 6.45 ish.
The speeches were being given when we got there, so we waited outside.
A little later, the groom came out, greeted us and gave me an envelope marked, "magician" .... that gave me a little buzz to be honest :)
I didn't open the envelope until a little later on, but we'd agreed on £85 (£35 to cover the return taxi and £50 to pay for drinks) .... so imagine my surprise when I found £140 inside :)
Anyway .... on with the tricks. We stayed til 11 ish and plenty of jaws hit the floor .... I even managed to get a few screams outta some people ......
All in all, everything went well, until right at the end when a guy threw my cards on the floor. He didn't do it in an aggressive way. He'd asked to borrow the cards, so he could show me and my mate a trick. I sussed what trick he was doing and the trick involved throwing the deck and keeping hold of 2 cards. I asked him not to throw the cards on the floor .... but it was too late .... plop .... right onto the wet floor .... cards ruined.
Luckily I had spares and managed to make up a "new" deck of 51 cards ... so all was not lost.
I had a text today from the groom, thanking me for entertaining his guests.
All in all .... everyone was happy ... had a great time :)
