A New Scam?

Just had an email purporting to come from TV licensing saying that they were unable to renew my licence and to click here to update my details, including bank details. It is obviously not from them; I pay by DD and my last payment was made yesterday. Anyone else had this?

That one's being going around for years. I get very few spam/phishing emails but I've certainly seen that one a few times.

I had this a few weeks ago, the email came through to an account I don't personally use. I just ignored and deleted it.

First time I've come across it. They had my licence number &c correct.

I get quite a few such emails and just bin them of course. But I got a spam text today purporting to be from the DVLA with a link to claim my licence refund that is supposedly due to me. The way they wrote it mad eit look convinving because teh word DVLA appeared straight after the number. People are generally wary of scam emails but are perhaps less alert to similar scams by text message.

Well it seems odd and concerning that they had your licence number.

To be quite honest I don't get a paper licence so the number may be duff. It just looked so convincing at first.
