Elephant Rescue.

There was a post recently about elephants on this site so I posted this video, but no-one seems to have noticed it, so here we go again! A baby elephant has fallen down a hole and is being rescued by construction workers with a digger. When the elephants climbs out of the hole, it's mother seems to give a gesture of thanks to the workers with her trunk. Does she? What do you think?

I think every animal (including humans) have instincts that they respond to., even if irrational. Otherwise nobody would ever have babies... but social animals, such as elephants are designed to survive by communication and I think many are far more intelligent than we give them credit for.
Look at dogs and cats... even without literally speaking our language, they have managed to make best friends with us, so they are sheltered, fed, loved, cuddled, vaccinated etc etc, instead of living in the wild and fending for themselves. That surely is very intelligent.
