It doesn't - it charges you for having a television that picks up terrestrial TV signals - the choice of which subscriber you add on is yours entirely.
Yes, you need a licence to watch any transmitted programme.The licence is for the set, not the channels you watch.

Oh ok never thought of that simple really ain’t it .
I know a person who just does not buy a licence at all. Its in a HOMO and hes not had any problems from licensing authorities.

should the 35 Mod presenters not pay 1000 a year as they make enough .beeb says cutting wages would not help so millions of other companies are wrong then .id change some of the programme names to reflect this unfair rule change . The despair shop ,pensioners under the hammer ,killing view

Wolf Yes Chris is exactly right, normally HMO. A number of people living in a single property sharing facilities.
