For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Someone on here will correct me if this isn't a good idea, but when I have pain that I know paracetamol won't touch, (ie- not headache or period pain) I sometimes have co-codamol 4mg. It has managed to rid me of some really bad pain, such as arthritic joint pain and dislocations. Co-codamol contains 500mg paracetamol so must not be taken with any other paracetamol. The small amount of codeine seems to be just enough to alter pain. I think you can buy the lowest dose over the counter.
