rain sensing wipers on zafira

it says in the manual that it needs a light tap up but i can't get the tap just right so i just start the wipers. how can i overcome this?

what do you mean a light tap up, on the mercedes we have,it only has to drizzle and the wipers come on,you dont have to touch the control,its automatic.

Usually "Auto" wipers switch just takes the place on the stalk where "intermittent" would be. EG first notch on stalk.
