This story has popped up quite a few times on my FB newsfeed over the past few days. Has it been discussed on AB - maybe I've missed it.

"When Notre Dame was burning, the world's media covered every moment of it and billionaires rushed to restore it. Right now, the Amazon is burning - the lungs of our planet - it has been burning for 3 weeks no. No media coverage. No Billionaires."

"The Amazon rainforest that provides 20% of the world's oxygen and home to 3 million species of plants and animals has been burning for three weeks without media coverage."

Why would the media not cover this story?

one of my aunts lost a whole lung and lived into her 60s, Clarion, but yes, I'd rather not lose even 20%.
I know but we are probably talking a small percentage of 20%, as pointed out in cassas' link on another thread.
Cassa was wrong.

The amazon is burning 87% more than it was last year.
"The National Institute for Space Research (Inpe) said its satellite data showed an 84% increase on the same period in 2018."
