You'd like to think, in 2019, that people had grown-up and realised what total rubbish religion is.
In 2013 an American had a torn placenta and prayed to Cardinal John Henry Newman to stop the bleeding - and lo and behold, the bleeding stopped.
That's what people in the real world with a grasp of reality call a coincidence.
I wish religionists would sometimes consider what they think objectively. If they did you'd hope they'd have an epiphany and realise they're being ridiculous.
I genuinely believe that people who believe in god and heaven and so on have a form of mental illness. If I swore blind in the existence of leprachauns, people would quite rightly question my sanity....and yet even though there's as much proof in the existence of god (i.e, NONE), were meant to take their nuttery seriously and respect it.
Madness.

They probably wouldn't get many volunteers if they went with a slogan like 'God's against us on this - but what the heck, let's fight the *** anyway'.
If god would only pipe up and declare which side he actually does support, many wars could probably be avoided, but he tends to keep quiet.

Naomi, right wing American evangelist. Of course, most people retain some innate humanity in spite of the teachings of their preachers, but unfortunately many people do follow what they have been taught from infancy; it would be better if they were taught to think for themselves and not just to obey authority, but authority suits the religious leaders.
Naomi, here's what I tried to paste.
According to Arie Perliger, director of terrorism studies at the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point, the three ideologies within the violent American far-right are racist, anti-federalist and fundamentalist. Each has subgroups—the racists include white supremacy groups such as the KKK, neo-Nazis and skinheads, which can differ in subtle ways. The anti-federalists include militias, self-defined "patriot" groups and what are so-called "sovereign citizens,'' who hold that they are legally bound only by their personal interpretation of common law and are otherwise not subject to federal, state or local laws. The fundamentalists are primarily Christian identity groups that believe the biblical war of good vs. evil is between descendants of Anglo-Saxon nations and all other ethnic groups. Tangential to the fundamentalists are the anti-abortion attackers, who also invoke religion as a foundational motive for their violence. These disparate groups of people—violent and nonviolent—pine for different versions of a highly idealized past.

Atheist; //The fundamentalists are primarily Christian identity groups that believe the biblical war of good vs. evil is between descendants of Anglo-Saxon nations and all other ethnic groups.//
I know nothing of whom is described here but they don't sound very Christian, & a "Biblical war" is a far cry from real war, more like the Salvation Army's "Onward Christian Soldiers" or William Blake's, "Jerusalem".

Khandro. I think you're wanting to define christian in a way that you approve of, i.e. decent good people who aren't extremist and don't cause trouble. Of course, decent good muslims must feel the same about their own extremists. I think more people on this planet want to live decent lives than want to be violent.
