Temporomandibular Jaw Pain
2 Answers
I'm experiencing left hand side temporomandibular jaw pain. I've had it for over a month now and I'm reaching the end of my tether with it.
I wondered if any of you have suffered from this, and what, if anything, helped? I have an appointment with the Dentist today to get her input. And I have an appointment with Doc in a week or two, (though I'm not entirely sure what they can do. At least they can rule out it being anything else I guess?) and I want to pre-empt the GP sending me to the Dentist.
But I just wondered what I could do to help myself in the meantime?
I'm just wondering if others out there have had this and can offer advice.

There are types of T.M joint syndromes but rarely identify the teeth as a cause.
T.M arthritis may be diagnosed by X-Rays both types rheumatoid and osteo-arthritis, stress induced teeth grinding (Bruxism) can also be a cause.
Referral to a facio-maxillary surgeon would seem appropriate for you, but don't count on a diagnosis.
This is not life threatening of any disorder and no, I have never suffered from this symptom.
