In light of Canarys thread, I thought some of you might like to sign this. I have added my signature to it.

Spot on OG, the problem started when they allowed the general public to buy the larger fireworks, so its a self inflicted problem.
I think it's all well and good flailing your arms and moaning but maybe those that wish action to be taken should think logically about the issue. Do you want fireworks banned?

How about just cat 3 fireworks? Surely you want ur little kiddies to be able to play with sparklers? If it's an noise issue why not petition for a noise restriction?

Compose yourselves, and try to be rational.

they will never simply ban them all.
Errr...no one is asking for them to be banned. Just not on sale to the general public.
//This is nonsense. I simply clicked the link & it said I have "signed" the petition. I didn't sign anything//

I don't like the sound of that. I won't be clicking on the link.
They're asked them to be banned to the general public.
A petition without identification is worthless. If it just clicks up visitors no wonder it attains a high total. Have to say I didn't notice as I was looking for the petition text, that so had to check !
" Just not on sale to the general public."

yeah, ban them for public sale. That is what I meant, that is what this petition is about.

1+1=2.
I mean, to be blunt... The title of the petition literally says "Ban fireworks for general sale to the public."
@naomi......I doubt that your name or mine has been added to the petition which, if you click what is recorded underneath the total of 278,315 ("Ban fireworks for sale to the public") another page is opened to say that the Petition has been closed.

Had it been possible I would have signed.

Large numbers of Police all over the UK were out last night controlling Yobs and a number pets are reported as having died of fright. Also a horse was seriously injured when it panicked and got entangled in a fence. etc, etc.

Hans.
Hans, //@naomi......I doubt that your name or mine has been added to the petition //

I know mine hasn't. I didn't 'click'.
Sorry naomi.....I thought you were saying that your name was added automatically, when it was other ABers.

Anyway, I don't think anyone's name would be added without confirmation of intention.

Hans.
Already signed, willingly.
OG as I have said before, if firework use was still the same as when you and I were children then there would be no need, or pressure for action. Sadly times have changed and we can't go back.
