Johnson himself and other candidates made a similar inquiry-pledge during the Tory leadership election in June. Five months have passed since then without development so clearly the upcoming general election - and the multitude of Muslim electors, of course - have prompted the latest “promise”. Let’s hope the eight weeks until the end of the year, as promised by Gove are more productive!

The amount of Islamophobia circling around the time of the brexit referendum was wild. It's odd to think that they used freedom of people and our boarders as a reason to leave the EU? It's a bit sickening.. Now they're trying to show how they're making an effort for the Muslims in the UK simply because a General Election is fast approaching? Too little too late, mate. The Conservative party should be hung from their hind legs. They have proven time and time again that they can't lead our country into a democratic future, they have proven time and time again they can't handle internal affairs, they've proven time and time again that they can pull the wool over our eyes, and we'll sit there and pretend it's just night time.

Anyone who votes conservative, is a traitor to not only democracy but to British principles.

Just a reminder. The vast majority of people coming to this country from Europe are not Muslims. Muslims, in the main, come here from elsewhere.

spath, I think you'll find that people wanted strict controls of our borders long before Brexit was ever heard of .... Schengen, to which we are not party, has been in effect for years .... but don't let that stop you spinning.

The only people who were spinnign were those with brexit propaganda then never came true, and never will.

Schengen Area has nothing to do with the fact that people voted for brexit to tighten our boarders, have control over our laws and pensions (we had control over both anyway) and to generally be independent from unelected bureaucrats even though they were democratically elected.

I was being ironic 3T. I don't trust any of them as far as I can trust them, not a one have the public's best interests at heart, they only support what's best for themselves.
