//Hell, I bloody WORK for the foodbank and even I can see that people take advantage. Doesn't mean that there are genuine people that rely on it to get by.//
No it doesn't. But it might help explain some of the exponential increase in the numbers using food banks. As you said ''We've been buying food from supermarkets and just found out that we can have it for free''. If places give out goods for free it cannot be too surprising if some people get themselves down there to have some.
The woman in the new article was going back to visit the foodbank she was not claiming food when she was filmed she was donating.
As for the comments about people taking advantage in particular the older couple are they not perhaps taking advantage in much the same way that you did nailit, the only difference being that they had a referral and you did not.
I think it's disgusting that you are criticising the pensioners nailit. So they were buying food at a supermarket ? It may have been the cheapest food they have because they don't have much money and if they were given a voucher, somebody (probably with better knowledge than you) decided they needed help! Just because they made a comment about getting it for 'free' doesn't make them wrong in my eyes, or are you another one on here totally against anyone over 70?!
