If you had a colonoscopy for polyps or as follow up for previous treatment I would ask your doctor, via his secretary, if the test is necessary. It could be that you are on your local NHS list as being eligible for the test now.
From a personal point I no longer trust stool tests and request no further sample kits. I have had colon cancer And three separate stool tests missed it. The colonoscopy found it immediately. Any more false readings and it might of been too late.
No more stool kits for me.
Colonoscopy seeks the whole colon which is the commonest place for malignancy.
The small bowel which is not reached by the colonoscope is an uncommon place for malignancy.
if i were in your shoes, I would not send back the specimen.
Your choice.
Quizmaster....i object to your insensitive reply at 16.42.
Bazile....colon clear as suggested by colonoscopy.
Small bowel....very rare cause of malignancy.
Stool analysis not 100% accurate.
All in all...i wouldn't bother.........just my opinion.
