On boatys early morning thread I have just watched Barry Steele doing a tribute act to Roy Orbison, he is absolutely brilliant.
Also I have just finished watching the Freddie Mercury programme that was on earlier tonight. My two musical heroes. Freddie and Roy so very much missed in my eyes.

I have seen Barry Steele's tribute act at the local theatre. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Would go again.

i confess i hadn't heard of Barry Steele, but did watch the posted video and was very impressed with his performance

I remember seeing Gerry Grant on Stars in their Eyes back in the day, and I thought he was excellent and yet he didn't even win the round. Sadly he passed away in 2010, but as you are a fan of Roy Orbison Caran, I would like to know what you think of this guy.

It was won by someone called Tara Lewis who did Lulu. I can't find a clip of that but she appeared on The Voice a few years ago and nobody turned round.

I've been looking for the Barry Steele video you mention but can't find it, can someone tell me where it is please? Gerry Grant was very good. I forget who was performing when I went to a tribute performance last year, but he was very good. I'm off out for a couple of hours so I'll have to say thank you when I get back.

As I said in yesterday's thread I've seen him a number of times, including last night. I think he has actually got better over time.
