... so didn't take my 'seasonal cold and cough' to my GP - there's burger-all that they can do about short-term viral infections and it would be a waste of time/money/resources and I certainly didn't want any (ineffective) antibiotics.
But today the throat pain escalated from 'manageable' to 'rather awful' and so I was packed off to the GP by a determined small Irish person - and (whilst you may moan - and I did) it's easier to do as you're told.
It took my kindly GP nearly a minute to diagnose 'a nice classic case of almost certainly bacterial tonsillitis', to give me a bollocking for not coming sooner and to prescribe some amoxicillin ...
Gness has just opined that if they cure the pain, but leave the loss of voice, then life would be perfect ...
OH BM my next door neighbours have crutches permanently stored in the alley, his for his failed knee surgery and hers when she over dose her fitness training, she thinks nothing of cycling 20 odd miles in the summer, mind you her £3K titanium bike I can lift with one finger.
