Zero Mileage?
I've just had a brand new engine fitted to my VW Campervan. Should they have set the mileometer to zero?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.there is not much point in resetting the speedo to zero, you simply keep a record of when the engine was fitted. if you zero the speedo and try to sell the motor people will ask what is the genuine mileage. you could say that it was zeroed. you then must know what the genuine mileage is. you could fit a new speedo head which would be at zero. but you would also know what the genuine mileage is. it becomes illegal when you state that the mileage on the clock is genuine when in fact its not . so be careful and maybe honest to save yourself a lot of crap.
