has Derek Acorah appeared to anyone as yet?
I lived in a 'haunted' house. I don't believe anything is 'supernatural' though. We might not know 'why' or 'how' now but that doesn't mean we will never know.

How do you know it's haunted, Naomi?

I'm inclined to agree with you with respect to what we don't know and what we may one day know.
I've seen and 'felt' a few presences , I think most of us probably have but don't know what they are. I've described a man whose funeral it was on the day I saw a stranger at my OH's farm, it was the man who'd died even down to wearing his favourite hat, I'd never met the fellow. A few years ago I could not get an earworm out of my head, this random word over and over with 'I'm ok'. I knew a colleagues daughter had been killed in a car crash and knew she had left a toddler. Turns out the babies name was 'Sydney' and this was the name I was hearing. It didn't click as I knew the girl had a daughter and was thinking Sydney the place not a childs name. That was strange.
I use the word 'haunted' for want of another word to describe it. Things that really did defy rational explanation occurring over the course of a good number of years.
I 'met' a lovely lady departed from the world while renovating an old house. I was scraping off some hideous wallpaper and heard in my head, not out loud 'Thank goodness for that dear I hated that paper' . Her presence stayed a few days checking what I was doing I think then one day just went.
Great grandmothers can be terrifying :-D
We lived in a hot country and at night went to sleep with a sheet over us, a blanket folded at the end of the bed. Every night i was aware of OH getting up, gping to the loo and then pulling the blanket up to my now chilly shoulders and tucking it gently round me.
A couple of years later in a conversation with friends he denied this, I was the one who had done this, not him.. In the morning we were both covered.
Years later still, on another posting we met a couple who it transpired had lived in the same flat before us, her first words were Did you get tucked in at night?
wow ebo that's both amazing and a bit scary
Oh, it's just a cover story.
I prefer to call them spirits, not ghosts. I have had a similar experience to APG, seeing a lovely elderly lady I once knew, several days after she had died. I think they come back to say 'goodbye' and maybe to let us see that yes, life does go on.

There's some eerie tales!

As a child, I used to say I could see a girl called Emily in old fashioned dress at the house where I was brought up. Didnt think anymore of it until about 35 years later when I started a new branch of the family tree. Unbeknownst to my family, ancestors had lived in the village where I grew up - on the next door farm. Turned out, my gggg grandfather married a daughter from this house. Emily!
Mine wasn't eerie bm, it was truly lovely to see her. I felt honoured. A place I used to work at once was definitely haunted, that was slightly more eerie, but I have to go now, but will come back to this thread, if it's still running.
At the place where I worked one of the computer operators refused to go into one of our computer rooms on her own; she said she had seen Roman soldiers in there, strangely only from the knees upward. Some years later, when they were digging the foundations for a new building they came across Roman ruins.
I've only had one truly scary experience regarding spirits. I bought a mixed box at our local auction house and in an old box was some photos, obviously late Victorian early Edwardian by the fashion. One man one woman and a small boy. A couple of nights later I was in my living room and felt this overwhelming feeling of doom and evil -yes I know that sounds theatrical but the feeling is hard to explain. I felt a presence literally whizzing around the house as if trying to escape. I immediately put the pictures outside in the garage and the next day 'dealt' with them appropriately. Thankfully that did the trick, that was truly unnerving.
when my daughter was very small I always stood her on the window seat of our naval quarter flat to watch her daddy coming up the road when he was on weekend leave and she always started waving ,when I said who are you waving at she said old man down there ,there was an old house in front of our flats but I never saw anybody there ,this happened quite a few times x
My daughter lived in a very old house and she felt a presence but never really saw anything. One day four year old grandson found her and asked who the lady in the bedroom was. A lady with a baby. Daughter went with him and he told her the lady had gone. He was very matter of fact and she never reappeared.
I used to work at the Middlesex Hospital and on the cancer ward we had”The Lady in Grey” who would bring a cup of tea to a patient before they died. It happened to me one night. I went to the kitchen to make a cup of tea and when I returned the patient said “thank you nurse but the nurse in grey already brought me one”. There was a cup of tea on her table and she died 30 minutes later
