A very crowded market place now and the brand is not "cool" anymore.
I'm not really sure why and how Mothercare went downhill - when I had my daughter 30 years ago it was THE go to place for everything through pregnancy and baby years. If I was in that sutuation now I don't know where I'd go, certainly nothing to match it in my local supermarkets. Mind you it was the same with Adams - also my go to place for her early year clothes, they had lovely outfits but they went too.
when i had me daughter 15 months ago, we hadnt bought a single thing for her before she was born. The day after my husband went to MC to buorn at once. There is no where else you can buy sterlizers, bottles, toys, cots, formula clothes, baby baths and so on all together if needed. Mid you, i dont suppose many people need everything at once
A good question piggynose, , when my grandson was born almost 16 years ago, Mammas and Papas was the in thing and quite expensive as they matched everything you needed from a cot to wallpaper, the only conclusion I can draw is shopping online
mothercare was expensive though compared to say amazon. However, you could at least go there and get expert advice on say car seats or prams
