There's a song... I think it's off a cereal advert but I can't remember...Only joking. Everybody calm? Sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin. I have an electric guitar which I never play, but which I've had since I was quite small. I've got several other guitars which I play regularly. As I am still in the springtime of youth I have only the slightest inkling of sentimentality about such things, but I also have no space and no money. So, particularly those 'more experienced' in life than me, do I sell it or will I regret it when my grandchildren buy their first thrash metal album?

I actually nearly imploded when i read that title and then fell about laughing, so thatnks for that!! lol, that has seriously made me laugh!!
Very clever Mike! I also laughed, esp-ecially having just come from the 'Adverts' Section where the question was asked again - and got some pretty stroppy reponses! Anyway, to your question - if your guitar is not valuable, or likely to become so - '53 Telecaster / '66 Les Paul Gold Top, that kind of thing, I would offload it and buy your grandchildren a new one when they feel like they want to use it. Speaking personally, my grand-daughter, who is eight, likes Blazin' Squad, so if I'd saved a guitar for her (which i didn't, I've never owned one!) she wouldn't have been too interested anyway.
LMAO! i say sell it - i recently sold my drum kit which i've had for 10 years but haven't played for about 3. i was a bit attached to it (silly i know) but don't regret selling it at all as i really needed the money! it was getting no use and was taking up space. i took a photo of it and i kept all my sticks for sentimental value!
