//Yet another bastion of masculinity has fallen. Women are turning into men and visa versa//

Small named and small minded I see,
//I'm sure you can work it out. And keep a civil tongue when talking to me.//

Or Spicy will unleash his superior masculinity upon you.

//If you think this makes women physically equal to men, you need to think again//

No, but it makes THIS woman equal to most men, or she wouldn't have passed.
Mozz - // No, but it makes THIS woman equal to most men, or she wouldn't have passed. //

I think that makes her equal to the other soldiers who pass the test - and utterly superior to most other men.
Very true Andy, I did her a disservice.
I'm sure she's superior to a majority of the men on AB... ;-)
Very true Pasta, especially the ones who were moaning about her.

I know who I'd put my money on in a fist fight. :-)

I say, steady on!!!!
spicerack: "If you think this makes women physically equal to men, you need to think again. " - women will never be physically equal to men, what's happened here is that a woman has passed a very difficult test designed for paratroopers, they did not vary the test for her, they stuck to the rules and that is correct. There are many claiming equality but they want the rules to be altered, that is not the case here, the military famously refuse to alter their criteria and their rewards when those criteria are met. Some of my friends are ex paratroopers and they have nothing but respect for this lady.
Exactly what we've been saying 3T. This doesn't make women physical equals to men, but it does make this lady physically on a par with her peers who have also passed the tests.

I am sure that spicerack is regretting his possibly hasty and certainly ill-thought-out observation.

No-one imagines for a moment that this one achievement makes women 'physically equal to men' - that would be ridiculous.

What it does do though, is make this lady equal to her male counterparts in one of the most gruelling tests the army offers, and for that she deserves respect.
Mmm. Nobody asked me if Rosie was equal to the men on her course.
I was asked if this proved men & women were physically equal. I said no.
So while you, andy, and your little gang have all had a go at me, you've all said exactly the same thing. (happy to point out where you said it but I'm sure people can read for themselves)
So while I haven't made any possibly hasty and certainly ill-thought-out observations, I can point you in the direction of some who have.
