With all the flooding of lots of small town shops /businesses, and on top of that, my be the virus keeping folk away from the high street, is the high street done for completely.

With people avoiding crowded supermarkets the local shops may seem more appealing,

12.45 Could be, but I fear lots of the smaller shops won't recover from the floods even, they've gone for weeks already without any cash coming in, plus the coming weeks/months to repair damage, its not going to be done over night.

I’ve just returned from our town centre and it was as busy as usual. However, that may change as the numbers affected by the virus continue to rise.

Some have already gone ..... the move away started with out of town shopping centres and with the demise of such hops at Woolworths, BHS etc

I was at my local supermarket on saturday .
I didn't notice a lot of difference in the number of shoppers compared to previous weeks ; and it was late afternoon .

One thing i did notice though - and that was the empty pasta and hand wash shelves .
Funnily enough , there was lots of bake beans , still left

plenty of soup and pot noodles down here too, this morning. A friend said that he saw one woman loading into her trolley 4 trays of tinned tomatoes and two of chick peas - in Tescos - unbelievable. No wonder the bog paper is being snatched up.
